The Mayfair wellness centre fitout was originally a historic picture theatre from the 1940s in Bicton W.A. which the clients had the vision to turn it into a premium wellness centre in Perth. MATA Design came up with an amazing concept for the space which transformed the empty building into this incredibly beautiful space for the client to offer the superior wellness and gym facility they had always dreamed of.
With a full ceiling restoration of the original Art Deco details and new flooring throughout plus the ingenious addition of 3 x large faux windows to create the illusion of real windows, the Mayfair started to take shape.
We added a Recovery Room with 2 x ice baths and an open shower space with both ultraviolet and traditional saunas for the patrons to use after their workouts on the state-of-the-art gym equipment which each required power and data services to be integrated.
The other space we created was the Pilates Reformer Room with its full-height glazing, custom-made batten acoustic ceiling and backlit curtains this space oozes elegance.
The existing bathrooms also got a makeover to bring them up to meet the level of the main floor finish.
The custom joinery on this project is some of the nicest and most detailed units we have ever built in the DeCo factory to date.
We genuinely loved working on this wellness centre fitout project and wish Mayfair all the success they deserve for having such a beautiful vision of such a beautiful and historical space.
L1 Reception Counter
Custom made curved reception counter for with fluted marble cladding and Corian bench top
Recovery Space
Odin Ice Baths installed with concealed services run to each unit.
Faux Windows
LED light box's used to mimic real widows. Colour cahanging setting to create walm sunset hues in the late afternoon
Rear Wall Mirror Glazing
We lined the rear upper wall with large mirrors to give the illusion that the rooms extends much further than in reality. A great detail added by MATA Design
Timber Batten Portal
Solid American Walnut timber was used to create a portal frame at the Recover room entry. Build by DeCo
Rinse Off Shower
Minimalist shower space for pre ice bath dip
Copper Colored Stainless Steel
Custom made and wrapped in Rimex copper colored stainless steel the central spine wall joinery unit will go down in history as one of DeCo's favorite we have ever created
Water Stations
Calcutta marble was used to dress the 2 x water stations in the central joinery unit built by DeCo
Reformer Room Custom Timber Batten Ceiling
Built in the DeCo factory and installed on site the acoustic backing creates a quiet space while looking beautiful

The Faux windows are dressed with full height sheer curtains and wall sconce light fixtures to keep with the high end Art Deco specification from the designers.
